About PokiePundit

How we rate casinos: the PokiePundit method

Six criteria, published weights, facts from the operator's own terms and official registers, and scores that never depend on commission.

Key facts

  • Six criteria, weighted: payments and withdrawals 25%, terms fairness 20%, safety and licence 20%, responsible gambling tools 15%, games and RTP transparency 10%, support 10%.
  • Every fact comes from the operator's own terms or an official register, with a date.
  • Reviews say whether they are desk reviews or hands-on tests.
  • Commission never changes a score. Partners are labelled as partners.

The six criteria and their weights

Every review we publish scores an operator out of 10 on six criteria, then weights them into an overall score. The weights reflect what decides whether a player gets a fair deal and gets paid.

CriterionWeightWhat we look at
Payments and withdrawals25%Withdrawal limits, stated payout times, fees, verification rules, methods for Australians
Terms fairness20%Wagering, max bet, time limits, max cashout, game exclusions, inactivity fees, confiscation clauses
Safety and licence20%Licence authority and number, operator company, restricted countries, regulator warnings or blocks
Responsible gambling tools15%Deposit limits, time-outs, self-exclusion, reality checks
Games and RTP transparency10%Whether RTP is shown per game, game providers, range of pokies

Where our facts come from

We take facts from the operator's own terms, help pages and footer, and from official registers and regulators. For licence claims, our guide on how to check a casino licence shows the registers that matter, and the Curacao gaming licence and Anjouan gaming licence pages explain what two licences seen on offshore casinos mean and how to verify each. We do not copy other review sites. If we cannot confirm a fact, we leave it out or mark it as not confirmed, and the score uses only what we could check.

Desk reviews and hands-on tests

A desk review is based on reading terms, registers and the site itself, without depositing. A hands-on test means a real person opened an account, deposited, verified and withdrew, with dated screenshots. Every review states which one it is. We never claim a test that did not happen.

Independence

Some operators pay us a commission when players join through our links. That never changes a score, the facts we show or the order of a comparison table built from facts. A partner with poor terms gets a poor score and we say why. Partner blocks are always labelled as partners, with our affiliate disclosure one click away.

Keeping ratings current

Terms change, so every fact carries a "last checked" date and we re-check partners and reviewed brands regularly. If you find something out of date, please tell us. See our editorial policy for how corrections are handled.
