Key facts

- It is financially guaranteed by the NSW Bookmakers Co-operative and is not on the Northern Territory register, because its licence is from NSW.
- Withdrawal requests are processed twice daily and paid by Osko, often arriving instantly once approved.
- After 18 months without betting activity, Palmerbet may charge up to $10 a month, and can keep inactive balances of $10 or less.
- Deposits by debit card, PayPal, Osko, Apple Pay, Google Pay, pay by bank and BPAY. The minimum online bet is $1.
Verdict
Palmerbet scores 6.5 out of 10. It is the only corporate bookmaker in our reviews licensed by Racing NSW rather than the Northern Territory, and its licence comes with something unusual: a financial guarantee from the NSW Bookmakers Co-operative. We found no action against it in ACMA's 2025 and 2026 releases or its list of wagering investigations. It loses points because its payout timing is described only loosely, and because its terms charge idle accounts and can keep small leftover balances. This is a desk review of palmerbet.com, its terms and App Store listing, read on 8 October 2026.
Who owns Palmerbet
Palmerbet's About page answers the "Palmerbet owner" question directly. It is "owned and operated by Palmer Bookmaking Pty Ltd", and "the company and directors, Grant and Andrew Palmer, are licensed by, and operate under the regulation of, Racing NSW". The business describes itself as more than sixty years old and three generations deep, working from offices at Canterbury Racecourse, NSW. Its footer adds that it is "100% Australian owned and operated".
Why Palmerbet is not on the NT register
Most online bookmakers hold Northern Territory licences, so people look Palmerbet up on the NT register and do not find it. That is expected. Clause 1.3 of its terms says Palmerbet "is licensed in New South Wales by Racing New South Wales" to take bets on course, by phone and online, and its About page says sports betting is also regulated by the NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing. Its gambling operations follow its own Responsible Gambling Policy, the Australian Bookmakers Association Code of Practice and, for South Australians, the SA code. BetStop applies all the same: clause 3.5 says Palmerbet checks the register before it opens an account.
Palmerbet withdrawal times
Palmerbet does not publish a minute-by-minute timetable. What it says:
- Banking page: "Fast bank withdrawals via OSKO".
- App listing: requests are "processed twice daily and once approved, payments are sent using OSKO fast payments, often arriving instantly".
- Terms, clause 3.7: your account is "blocked for withdrawals" until your identity is verified.
On our reading, that means waiting for the next of two daily processing runs, then near-instant arrival if your bank supports Osko. Do your ID check at sign-up, not the night you win. Two fees can apply. If you withdraw deposited money that you have not bet at least once, clause 7.5 allows an administration fee that "will not exceed the reasonable cost" of the manual work and must be disclosed before you deposit. And an international telegraphic transfer costs $20 (clause 7.10).
Deposits
The banking page lists debit card, WAAVE pay by bank, PayPal, Osko, Apple Pay and Google Pay as instant, and BPAY at 1 to 2 business days. The terms also mention POLi and EFT online, and debit card or BPAY by phone. Credit cards are not accepted, in line with the national credit ban that began on 11 June 2024.
The inactive account rule, worked through
Clause 14 is the one to understand if you bet a few times a year. An account with no betting activity for 18 months becomes an Inactive Account, and Palmerbet may then deduct a fee of up to $10 on the first business day of each calendar month. Clause 14.4 lets it treat an inactive balance of $10 or less as forfeited.
Take a forgotten $45 balance at the maximum fee:
| Month after becoming inactive | Balance |
|---|---|
| Start | $45 |
| 1 | $35 |
| 2 | $25 |
| 3 | $15 |
| 4 | $5, now at or below $10 and liable to be forfeited |
One bet or one withdrawal stops the clock. If you are leaving Palmerbet, withdraw everything.
Bets and app
The app, rated 4.4 from about 2,600 ratings on the App Store on 8 October 2026, lists Same Race Multi, Same Game Multi, a Sports Multi Builder, Bookie Bag daily offers, the PB Punters Club (create a club with mates, split winnings) and AI-powered racing form with ratings and speed maps. The minimum online bet is $1. Racing is the core: if you are new to it, our how to bet on horses guide covers the basics.
Promo codes and deposit matches
Palmerbet attracts plenty of searches for bonus codes, promo codes, deposit matches and sign-up bonuses. The National Consumer Protection Framework stops licensed bookmakers offering any incentive to open an account or refer someone, and NSW applied that rule from 26 November 2019. We do not list codes; our betting sign up bonus guide explains the rule.

We did not find live chat on the pages we read. Palmerbet's footer links to a pre-commitment page in the account area for deposit limits, which every licensed bookmaker must offer. We did not review it, so responsible gambling stays at 5.0. For how Palmerbet sits against NT-licensed rivals, see our betting sites Australia comparison.
