Ignition casino review: a poker room, Anjouan paperwork and a bigger bonus for crypto

Ignition is a poker room first and a casino second, and it runs a separate Australian information site. ACMA has blocked 16 Ignition domains, and its bonus is worth 50% more if you pay in crypto.

Ignition casino review: the summary

Ignition is the odd one out among the brands Australians search for: it is a poker site that also runs a casino, with Jackpot Sit and Go tables, Zone Poker and knockout tournaments next to 400-odd slots and live dealer games. We score it 4.2 out of 10. Payout information is better than average and the footer names companies, but ACMA blocks 16 Ignition domains and the paperwork leads to Anjouan rather than to a regulator you would recognise.

This desk review uses Ignition's homepage, footer and Terms of Service, and the payouts guide on its Australian information site, all read on 8 October 2026. We did not register, deposit or play poker.

Ignition casino in Australia

Ignition is not legal here. The Interactive Gambling Act 2001 prohibits offering online casino games and online poker to people in Australia, and ACMA's blocked gambling websites list held 16 Ignition domains when we took our snapshot on 8 October 2026: ignitioncasino.net, ignitioncasino.eu and ten more ignitioncasino variants, plus ignitionpoker.eu, ignitionpoker.net.lv and two numbered ignition domains.

Ignition still courts Australians openly. Its main site carries the line "Looking for us in Australia? Visit Ignition Casino Australia", which leads to a separate information site full of AFL, Formula 1 and Aussie poker stories, whose join buttons point to yet another Ignition address. If a page will not load in Australia, it is usually because an internet provider has blocked it at ACMA's request.

For a plain-English account of who the law targets, read are online pokies legal in Australia. If poker is your game, our online poker Australia guide covers what is and is not allowed.

Who is behind Ignition?

The footer is more specific than most: "In some jurisdictions, Ignitioncasino.eu is operated by Bamboo Media registered under No. 11548 at Hamchako, Mutsamudu, Anjouan, Union of the Comoros. Arachis Media Ltd is licensed and regulated by the Anjouan Gaming Board". It also says the company operating the site is registered with the Anjouan Offshore Finance Authority.

Two caveats. "In some jurisdictions" leaves open which company you would deal with from Australia, and no licence number is given. The terms we were served also restrict play only in five US states (Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Nevada and New York), which tells you they were written for American customers. We could not see whether Australian visitors get a different version.

The structure of those terms, including the dormancy and deposit fee clauses below, closely matches the terms of Joe Fortune, even though Joe Fortune names a Curacao company.

Withdrawals: how fast, and what it costs

Ignition's Australian payouts guide lists five withdrawal methods and what each costs. The article was written for 2022, so treat the figures as the operator's stated policy rather than a current guarantee:

MethodProcessing time statedFee stated
BitcoinAbout 24 hoursFree
Bitcoin CashAbout 24 hoursFree
Voucher (to another player)About 24 hoursFree
Wire transferAbout 24 hours"May incur a fee"
Cheque by courier24 to 48 hours to prepare, then postal delivery$100

Each withdrawal is confirmed with an SMS code, and if ID is requested (government photo ID, proof of address), the guide says scanned documents are reviewed within 24 to 48 hours. The Terms of Service add that withdrawals depend on verification and anti-money laundering checks, and clause 4.6 lets Ignition "recover any fees covered on deposits" if there is little or no play between a deposit and a withdrawal. Crypto is clearly the route Ignition wants you on; our crypto casino Australia guide explains the trade-offs, from price swings to tax.

The crypto bonus premium

The same guide describes the welcome bonus as worth more if you pay in Bitcoin: up to 200% and $2,000 on a first deposit by credit card, up to 300% and $3,000 by Bitcoin. On a $1,000 first deposit that is a $2,000 bonus by card or a $3,000 bonus by crypto, a 50% bigger bonus for the same money.

A bigger bonus also means more to wager before you can withdraw it. The terms say bonus funds are subject to rollover requirements "outlined in the terms and conditions of the Bonus", but Ignition's welcome bonus page returned an error when we tried to read it, so we cannot tell you the rollover. Do not take the bonus until you have seen it.

Fairer housekeeping rules

Two rules here are friendlier than most offshore terms:

  • Dormancy at 18 months, with notice. An account is dormant after 18 months with no deposit, withdrawal or play. At 17 months Ignition emails you, and only 30 days after that notice is the balance set to zero (clause 3.7).
  • A two-week notice period for new terms. The footer says changes to the general terms take effect at least two weeks after they are announced.

Responsible gambling

Clause 5.3 lets you limit deposits by day, week or month, and an increase or removal takes at least 24 hours. Clause 5.4 lets you set play limits to zero or close the account for a gambling problem, honoured "immediately", and asks you to say it is for that reason so it is treated as permanent rather than a cooling-off. Ignition can also set its own deposit limit on your account (clause 4.4). VPN use to mask your location is treated as improper activity (clause 6.2), which can cost you your balance.

Games and support

Beyond poker, the homepage promotes 400+ slots, live dealer blackjack, roulette and baccarat, Hot Drop Jackpots and a daily scratch card. The site has a help centre and a customer service section; we did not test response times.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ignition casino legal in Australia?

No. Online casino games and online poker cannot legally be offered to people in Australia under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, and ACMA lists 16 Ignition domains as blocked illegal gambling sites.

Who owns Ignition casino?

Its footer says the site is operated in some jurisdictions by Bamboo Media, registered under No. 11548 in Mutsamudu, Anjouan, and that Arachis Media Ltd is licensed and regulated by the Anjouan Gaming Board. No licence number is given.

How long do Ignition withdrawals take?

Ignition's Australian information site says Bitcoin, voucher and wire transfer withdrawals typically take about 24 hours to process, and cheques 24 to 48 hours to prepare before posting. ID documents are reviewed within 24 to 48 hours.

Why can't I log in to Ignition from Australia?

ACMA asks Australian internet providers to block sites on its list, and 16 Ignition domains are on it. Ignition directs Australians to other addresses, but a new address does not change the legal position or your protections.

Is Ignition good for poker?

It is built around poker, with Jackpot Sit and Go, Zone Poker and knockout tournaments. Online poker is still a prohibited service in Australia, and we did not test the poker software.
