New online casino Australia: six checks before you trust a new site

A new casino has no track record, so its own terms are all you have to go on. Here are six checks that take ten minutes, and what they turn up on our partners' pages.

Every detail comes from the casino's own terms, except ACMA notes, which come from ACMA's blocked list. Key facts

  • Online casinos cannot be licensed in Australia, so every new real money casino aimed at Australians is offshore.
  • ACMA has had 1,822 illegal gambling and affiliate websites blocked since November 2019, and blocked brands often come back on new domains.
  • New often means a new logo on an existing rulebook: Wild Tokyo and Mino Casino publish word-for-word identical bonus terms.
  • Check who runs the site. SpinHub's footer names SML SAVEOPERATIONS LTD of Cyprus; Wild Tokyo's terms describe only an unnamed Cyprus company.
  • Withdrawal limits tell you more than the welcome bonus: AUD 800 a day at Wild Tokyo's entry level, AUD 900 at Mino Casino.

What "new" usually means

A new online casino can be a brand that has never traded, an old brand on a new domain, or a relaunch under a new name. From the outside they look the same. What is often not new is the rulebook underneath: two of our partners, Wild Tokyo and Mino Casino, publish word-for-word identical general bonus terms, down to the same list of excluded games.

That matters because a new site has no payout record. Its own terms, footer and limits are the only evidence you have before you deposit.

Real money and the law

Every new real money casino that accepts Australians is offshore. The Interactive Gambling Act bans online pokies and casino games for people in Australia, including online blackjack and online roulette, and there is no licence a new operator could apply for. Our gambling laws Australia guide sets out the federal and state rules. ACMA warns that people who use illegal operators risk losing their money. Read are online pokies legal in Australia before signing up anywhere.

Six checks before you trust a new casino

  1. Is it blocked? Search ACMA's blocked gambling websites list for the brand. Since its first blocking request in November 2019, ACMA has had 1,822 illegal gambling and affiliate websites blocked, as of 24 September 2026. Blocked brands often reappear on new domains, so search the name, not just the address.
  2. Who runs it? The footer or terms should name the company and its registration number. SpinHub's footer names SML SAVEOPERATIONS LTD, Cyprus, registration HE421137. Wild Tokyo's terms say only that the site is run by "a company registered in the Republic of Cyprus", with gambling services provided by a parent company in Curacao. No name means no one to hold to account.
  3. What licence does it claim? Wild Tokyo, Mino Casino and SpinHub all say they hold a Curacao eGaming licence, and none shows a licence number on the pages we read. A claim you cannot look up is weak evidence; our guide on how to check a casino licence shows which registers to search.
  4. What are the withdrawal limits? New sites advertise bonuses and bury limits. Wild Tokyo pays entry-level players up to AUD 800 a day and AUD 13,000 a month; Mino Casino up to AUD 900 a day and AUD 18,000 a month. If a site will not state its limits, assume they are low.
  5. Are the full terms public? Bonus rules, verification steps and fees should be readable without an account. Betya, one of our partners, showed only a maintenance page when we tried to read its terms from outside Australia, so we could not check anything.
  6. Does it say it accepts Australians? Wild Tokyo's list of countries where you cannot open an account runs to more than 150 places and does not include Australia. That means it takes Australian players, not that it may lawfully do so.

If a new site ever asks for a fee to release your winnings, stop there: our online casino scams guide explains that trick and the other warning signs.

From an Australian connection on 9 October 2026 we could read LuckyOnes, VegasNow, Lucky Dreams and Wanted Win. The first three share one set of limits and bonus caps and give no operator or licence at all, which is the "no name" problem from check 2. Joka's address now forwards to jokacasino.live, where the pages never finished loading, so its terms are still unread. LuckyOnes, VegasNow, Lucky Dreams, Wanted Win and Joka all have their main domain on ACMA's blocked list, and three Rolling Slots mirror domains are on it too.

Why new casinos lead with huge bonuses

A new site has to pull players away from established ones, and a big percentage is the cheapest bait. The wagering grows with it. Example numbers: a 250% match on a $100 deposit is $250 of bonus. At 40x the bonus that is $10,000 in bets, which costs about $400 on average at 96% RTP, four times what you deposited. Our casino bonuses Australia guide shows how to run the numbers on any offer. Loyalty schemes are the other hook, and our VIP casino guide shows what loyalty levels really change, from casinos' own terms.

What "best new online casino" should mean

We do not call a new casino the best, because there is nothing yet to measure it on. These are the things worth looking for, and every one can be checked before you deposit:

  • A named operator with a registration number.
  • Full terms readable without an account.
  • Stated withdrawal limits, minimums and processing times.
  • A verification policy with deadlines, such as Wild Tokyo's 30 days to send documents and up to 72 hours to check them.
  • Account tools that work: Wild Tokyo offers a "Take a break" suspension of at least 24 hours.

Pundit tip: for your first deposit at any new site, use an amount you would not chase, and try a small withdrawal early. How a casino pays $20 tells you more than any review of its welcome page.

Our method for scoring established casinos is set out in how we rate casinos, and our full write-ups are collected in online casino reviews Australia. For how payout speed really works, see the instant withdrawal casino guide.

Frequently asked questions

Are new online casinos legal in Australia?

No online casino can legally offer pokies or casino games to people in Australia, new or old, because no Australian licence exists for them. The offence is the provider's, but you have no Australian protection if a new site does not pay.

How can I tell if a new casino is safe?

No offshore casino is safe in the Australian legal sense, but you can rule out the worst. Check it is not on ACMA's blocked list, that its footer names a company and registration number, that the terms are public, and that withdrawal limits and verification rules are stated.

Why do new casinos have such big bonuses?

To win sign-ups from established sites. A big percentage usually comes with wagering that scales with it. On a $100 deposit, a 250% match at 40x the bonus means $10,000 in bets, which costs about $400 on average at 96% RTP.

What is the best new online casino in Australia?

We do not rank new casinos as best, because a new site has no payout history to judge. The better ones publish full terms, name their operator, state their withdrawal limits and offer tools like time-outs. Those are things you can check yourself.

Why do casino websites have numbers in their domain names?

Many offshore casinos run on several numbered mirror domains. The terms we read for Wild Tokyo were on wildtokyo72.com and Mino Casino's on minocasino12.com. Check the brand and operator, not just the address bar.
