Bookmaker review

Dabble review: a copy-bet app, the 8.74 second claim and a $1m BetStop penalty

Dabble is an app-first Northern Territory bookmaker built on copying other punters' bets. Its withdrawals can be very fast once you qualify, but in September 2026 it paid over $1 million for BetStop breaches.

Verdict

Dabble scores 6.4 out of 10. As a betting app it does what it sets out to do: it is quick, social and well rated. Its rules are fairer than most on idle accounts and withdrawal fees. But three weeks before our check, Dabble paid more than $1 million for breaking the rules that protect self-excluded people, and an app built around copying other punters needs those protections to work. We read Dabble's help desk and general rules, its App Store listing, the Northern Territory register and ACMA's release on 8 October 2026.

Dabble betting app review

Dabble is app-first. Its App Store listing, rated 4.7 from about 16,900 ratings on 8 October 2026, is built around social features:

  • Copy Bet: see a bet you like and copy it to your slip. The listing also promises "real cash every time your bet gets copied", which rewards you for getting others to bet.
  • The Feed: what other Dabblers are betting.
  • Same Game Multis with an SGM Tracker for player props during the match.
  • Pick 'Em for NRL, footy and NBA, and Quaddies you can build or copy.

Copying a bet copies the price too. A $2.50 multi leg implies a 1 / 2.50 = 40% chance whoever backs it, and a crowd on the same leg does not change the odds of it winning. Our same game multi guide shows how margins stack up as legs are added. For other apps, see our betting apps Australia comparison.

How fast are Dabble withdrawals, really?

The App Store listing claims "an impressive withdrawal time of only 8.74 seconds*", and does not explain the asterisk. Dabble's help desk gives the working rules:

RuleDetail
MethodBank transfer to a verified Australian bank account in your name
How to requestIn the Dabble app only, not by phone or live chat
Minimum$5, no withdrawal fee
Fast WithdrawalsTypically within minutes, once several initial withdrawals have succeeded and your bank supports Osko/NPP
Fast Withdrawal hoursNot available 11:00pm to 8:30am AEST
Standard withdrawalsRequested after 3:00pm AEST, processed by 3:00pm the next day at the latest
TurnoverEvery deposit must be bet through at least once

So the realistic picture: your first few withdrawals take the standard route, and a request at midnight on a fast-eligible account waits until 8:30am. Cancelling a withdrawal is no longer offered. Adding a bank account needs an SMS code.

Deposits

Dabble takes Apple Pay (iPhone), debit cards (Visa or Mastercard), Google Pay (Android), PayPal and PayID, from $5 on every method. Credit cards are banned at every Australian licensed bookmaker since 11 June 2024, and Dabble's options reflect that.

Codes and sign-up offers

"Dabble referral code", "promo code" and "deposit match" are among the top searches for the brand. Under Measure 4 of the National Consumer Protection Framework, no licensed online bookmaker may offer an incentive to open an account or to refer another person, nationally since 2019. Dabble's own copy-bet reward is a different thing, paid to existing customers. Our betting sign up bonus guide covers what is and is not allowed.

The ACMA penalty

On 16 September 2026 ACMA announced that Dabble Sports Pty Ltd had paid $1,069,200 in penalties. Its investigation found Dabble:

  1. failed to close 157 wagering accounts after the holders registered with BetStop;
  2. sent 165 self-excluded people 839 SMS, emails and app push notifications;
  3. sent 45 customers more than 2,000 push notifications that left out the required BetStop information.

Dabble gave a two-year court-enforceable undertaking to have its compliance systems independently reviewed. ACMA also noted that new laws from 1 January 2027 will substantially increase penalties for these breaches. If you have self-excluded and a bookmaker still contacts you, our self exclusion guide explains what to do.

Fees, limits and disputes

Dabble's general rules are kinder than most on idle accounts: an account becomes inactive only after more than 24 months without a deposit or bet, and then costs $10 a month until you bet or withdraw. Dabble charges no withdrawal fees. Take a Break runs from 1 day to 5 years and cannot be cancelled or shortened, and after a break Dabble checks in by phone before you can deposit again. Deposit limits and monthly emailed statements are standard.

If a dispute is not resolved, you can take it to the Northern Territory Wagering Commission, but clause 19.2 says it must be lodged within 14 days of becoming aware of the issue, or within 2 years if you can justify the delay. That is a short window: write down dates as soon as something goes wrong.

Support

Dabble lists phone support on 1800 322 253, plus live chat and email; its contact hours are on a separate page we did not confirm.

How we scored it

  • Payments 7.0: fast once you qualify, no fees, $5 minimum; bank transfer only and an overnight pause.
  • Terms 6.0: a 24-month grace period before the $10 dormant fee; a 14-day dispute window.
  • Safety 6.0: NT licence, minus a $1 million BetStop penalty in September 2026.
  • Responsible gambling 6.5: long, locked breaks; the BetStop failures and copy-bet rewards count against it.
  • Bet features 7.0: SGM tracker, Pick 'Em, quaddies.
  • Support 5.5: channels listed, hours not confirmed, no withdrawals through support.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Dabble betting app any good?

It is built for social betting: copying other punters' bets, a feed, same game multis with a live tracker and Pick 'Em. It was rated 4.7 from about 16,900 ratings on the App Store on 8 October 2026. Its BetStop record is the main concern.

How fast are Dabble withdrawals?

Dabble's app listing claims 8.74 seconds, with an asterisk. Its help desk is more measured: fast withdrawals typically arrive within minutes once several earlier withdrawals have succeeded and your bank supports Osko, and they pause from 11pm to 8:30am AEST.

Is there a Dabble referral code or sign up bonus?

Not one that a licensed Australian bookmaker can legally give for joining or referring a friend. The national framework bans incentives to open an account or refer someone. We do not publish codes.

Is Dabble legal in Australia?

Yes. Dabble Sports Pty Ltd holds a Northern Territory sports bookmaker licence for internet and phone betting and is listed on the Territory's register.

Why was Dabble fined?

ACMA found Dabble failed to close 157 accounts after their holders registered with BetStop, sent 165 self-excluded people 839 messages, and sent 45 customers over 2,000 push notifications without BetStop information. It paid $1,069,200 and gave a two-year undertaking.

Can I withdraw from Dabble by phone or live chat?

No. Dabble says withdrawal requests must be submitted through the app, and phone or live chat requests are not accepted.
